Self-Care Check List

What’s your self care routine? 🧖🏻‍♀️🌙

We know that physical health is important but what about your mental and emotional health? Do you have a routine you stick to or is your self care always on the backburner?

EAT A HEALTHY DIET

We already know the phrase “you are what you eat,” so why not make sure to opt for whole and nutritious foods that contribute to a healthier lifestyle. Eating whole grains and leafy greens to increase fibre intake and fruit packed full of vitamins and antioxidants is a great start to taking care of your diet.

BE ACTIVE FOR 30 MINUTES

Oftentimes we are too busy with work and daily tasks that we forget to work on our physical health and be active. Try to squeeze in a walk, a quick cardio session or lift some heavy weights even if it’s only for 30 minutes a day. Adding short bursts of activity into your routine can help energize the brain and allow you to focus on the multitude of tasks requiring your attention.

TALK TO A FRIEND

Humans are social creatures, we work best in social groups and interactions with others. Remember to reach out to a friend whether it’s to check in or plan a time to catch up. This can help strengthen our social bonds and support lines.

GET A GOOD NIGHT’S REST

Sleep allows our bodies and brain to recover so that we can function well in our daily lives. Make sure to have a bedtime routine that gets you prepared for a good night’s rest.

TURN OFF YOUR SCREEN

Sleep allows our bodies and brain to recover so that we can function well in our daily lives. Make sure to have a bedtime routine that gets you prepared for a good night’s rest. Studies have shown that the blue light emitted from electronics disturbs with our REM sleep so it’s best to turn them off at least an hour before bedtime to promote a restful sleep.

TAKE CBD

CBD has shown to improve symptoms of anxiety and sleep when taken consistently. If you experience anxiety try taking CBD at the start of your day to offset anxious thoughts out of your control that you may feel throughout the day. To help promote restful sleep, administer CBD sublingually an hour before bed and proceed with your usual bedtime routine. This will prepare your mind and signal to your body that you are ready for bed and aid in reducing poor sleep quality.
